Yeah that is the struggle lol, it's a bit like trying to enjoy a beautiful sunny day with your mates in the middle of a cult gathering while they're all singing Kumbaya.
Its really bizarre to me how people talk about that kind of stuff on here. It reminds me of how people talk about MLMs.
I think for most of the cultists it's basically the same. They bought into it and will make more money the more other people buy into it too, it's really not that different. Of course, Bitcoin fixes everything, but mostly what people want it to fix is their financial situation.
Personally I like buying precious metals. Sure I can't spend it either but its nice having something physical and knowing no matter what it'll have some value.
Physical holdings will always stand the test of time. "Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize we cannot eat money." I'm not proposing that we should ever go back to a time before currency, but I think it's worth remembering.
Bitcoin is great and it definitely has a place, historically it has appreciated way more than anything else, there's a lot to love about it. I think it's smart to also have holdings in physical things like precious metals, so really I think you strategy of holding some mix of both is a winner. I think what we're mostly sick of is having to talk about Bitcoin all the time and pretend like it's the magical cure for everything. Upset with your job? Buy bitcoin. Your marriage is falling apart? Bitcoin. Do you want to solve world hunger? Bitcoin. How about that war in Ukraine, huh? Bitcoin fixes it. Your cat's nice and fluffy? Bitcoin makes it fluffier. Bitcoin is over-represented on Nostr, it's boring.
