* compressedbillions of years of evolution into mere seconds. It's not only fast but also runs on a lightweight computer & designs wholly novel structures from scratch — w/o human-labeled, bias-filled datasets.

I have been taught that if a desired behavior is provided by intelligence, it is not a process of evolution. When a population continues to thrive in a novel ’niche’, that is a unintended consequence not a design intent. They say “The design pipeline starts with a randomly configured simulated robot and optimizes its structure . . . .’ They should have said the design pipeline starts with the declaration of desired behavior to be fulfilled by the design? That is not how evolution proceeds.

Do you believe evolution occurs to fulfill a desired behavior intelligently and purposefully? The scenarios in this report begin with intent and intelligence. I think there may be something to learn here. I do believe it tells us more about human technology targeting desired behavior than populations selected by survival. The danger of people using technology is in deciding which behavior is desirable.

What say you?
