World's first transparent 5G antennas turn windows into base stations. That's where futuristic glass antennas come in, courtesy of a partnership between glassmaker AGC, mobile carrier NTT Docomo, and infrastructure firm JTower.

Dubbed WAVEANTENNA, it turns ordinary windows into inconspicuous 5G base stations by sandwiching a special transparent conductive material – similar to what's found in laminated windshields – between two panes of glass.
These antennas utilize a special transparent conductive material that can be sandwiched between layers of glass. This design enables the window to double as a 5G cellular antenna without compromising aesthetics or visibility. The technology is particularly beneficial for urban environments, where traditional cell towers can be unsightly and face zoning challenges.
