OMG please bring back video game booklets. What the sh*t man. While I do like OTJ training, so to speak, I'd appreciate a static, physical, reference guide. With concept art. And background stories.
@2a70c54d Yeah back before you could just look up anything on gamefaqs or whatever sometimes they were almost like mini strategy guides, giving you info on enemy types or other hints. I miss that stuff. I don't know when they stopped, because I haven't bought a video game that wasn't on steam in years (I'm part of the problem, I guess) but when I realized they didn't have booklets anymore I was definitely a little bit sad.
@2a70c54d For what it's worth, I'm in the indie retro / homebrew space. We go out of our way to create physical copies of our games with real manuals.
@2a70c54d While you’re at it, please bring back software manuals.
@2a70c54d I picked up Rune Factory 3 Special for Switch, and it has a booklet in it introducing the town and characters. It was the Collector's Edition, so I'm not sure if standard also has the book, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does. XSEED is very good at providing extras. Trinity Trigger Day 1 Edition has a booklet, art book, and CD.
