Nothing. I think she's just trying to make a statement that situational awareness is favorable to paranoia, but I don't want to put words in her mouth.

In my case, I just seem to notice a lot of people who are completely unaware of the world around them.  

 People would rather be fighting imaginary ghosts, impose them on everyone else, and get mad when others don't play the same game rather than learn how to apply the appropriate response for a given situation.

at least that's my interpretation
