Would you trust a #jade wallet as it is? I normally do at least one transfer OUT before I go large, leading to at least 3 tx-es overall…

Either way I finally got one! #asknostr
What do you mean by "as it is"?
Hmmm I just bought one because it was the cheapest wallet
It should be great, very secure tech that works out of the box!

But still you can never be too paranoid hehehe
 Yeah definitely

You are starting with a brand new seed phrase aren't you?
Oh, sure! Would never potentially burn something like a Jade wallet!
 Ummmm...

Not sure what you're talking about.

What you can do is generate a new seed on the jade. Make a note of the identifier. Then restore the wallet on electrum or sparrow. See if the identifier matches.

If it matches then you can probably trust the Jade so start again with a new seed. Consider using a passphrase too.
Yeah that is of course a great idea… Then I might even pay for something I need soon online from the Jade wallet, before going high in percentage with it!

I’m just super paranoid about getting locked out, way more than being hacked since this is on Linux :-)

Heck, I’ll try to get it going on this Pinephone I have lying around!
Export xpub to sparrow. Use seed words to create full wallet in sparrow, compare addresses. Delete wallet and spin up a new seed on jade. Export xpub tosparrows, done. I'd also add pass phrases. And maybe bip 85 derivation (if jade supports it.).. If Jade supports XOR, you could create a wallet in sparrow, and xor it with wallet in jade.. That would he pretty damn solid.
Thanks for great pointers that will turn into a couple of constructive workdays right away! :-)
