Yes, he talks about the hope for Nostr truly grows into censorship-resistant protocol.

Nostr github also has clear description of its goal:
"a truly censorship-resistant alternative to Twitter that has a chance of working" - Nostr Protocol Github Description section

https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nostr

Nostr doesn't address privacy issues at the core since most of NIP designed as public communication implementation. Every interactions, notes, are truly PUBLIC.

We can only have PARTIAL privacy in USER IDENTITY (not data privacy) if we use:
- Pseudonomous random anon account (not doxed publicly known like Jack, Snowden, or anyone who are using Nostr with real identity)
- Using TOR properly (no IP leak) to connect Nostr relay. Snowden has made notes about this asking why some relays seem can't be accessed properly using Tor.

Those requirements only solve PARTIAL privacy in USER IDENTITY and not in data privacy. Since everyone can freely fetch notes and other stuff transmitted from relays since Nostr has been designed in that way.
