Roofers are often left out. That work is brutal, they deserve more respect. I've had plenty of arguments with people who go on about robots taking all the jobs but they will never replace all the trades, just won't happen. A robot will never be painting your living room, ever!
Nope. I have seen robots painters in videos. Guess what? The job-site floor is perfectly clean! Yeah robots, that’s the answer. Never happen.
Real homebuilders.
Housing and labor have become commoditized, but there is such a difference between a mass-produced tract home built to a budget and a bespoke, custom home (no matter the size- small or large) built by craftsmen who care about their work. Even early tract homes have stood the test of time, because they were nevertheless built by craftsmen.
A Homebuilder holds the vision; they are like the conductor in an orchestra.
Some days I really miss it.
Yep, homes are built to be disposable. Built very cheaply.
HVAC technicians, and when I say that I mean people trained who understand it as a craft in which the design of the system is as integral as the installation.
Auto repair!
Definitel, cars are very complicated now.
Even with the distortions produced my the enormous money printing of the last era those blue collar jobs are still quite valued due to the enormous market demand
I would agree. Maybe a little devalued in the past decade.
I think the real money is probably in business ownership.
Yeah, but depends on the industry. Look for cantillon effect
I guess it's not a trade, but it's certainly one of the most essential and forgotten about blue collar jobs out there: Seafarer
Yes, you don’t hear about that one much! Thanks
