I doubt it's intentional, but it does perpetuate an existing societal norm.

Your inverse example feels a bit tenuous. We call these things "assistants" for a reason, they're digital gofers, not sources of expertise. 
 @ca980588 If you force the removal of these virtual assistants from being female to male then you are literally erasing female voices and female representation in tech and reaffirming male dominance in an industry where the glass ceiling has just recently been shattered.  @b17a3b4f Female voices being used in "tech" (electronic devices) isnt the same thing as female representation in "tech" (the industry).
