The thing I like about the internet is that you can just talk about your passion, however niche, and connect with other nerds like you.

The thing I dislike the most is that on any sufficiently large forum, there's a 10-to-1 ratio of people who cruise it just to shit on other folks' work, vs people who care enough to say anything nice.

It took me a long time to realize this doesn't really change as you get better. It's a property of the medium. Love it or leave kind of a deal.
