I used peanutbutter but have had huge success with cat food these days
I put 3 sunflower seeds in the corner of my basement beside the chest freezer. I always check it to monitor activity. When they disappear I know there is a mouse in the house!
I do something similar in my truck as I live next to the foothills of my town.

Lol, theres a family story of my grandfather moving bales of hay and one jumped off and decided his open pant leg was a good place to hide. Lol
😂 This happened to my dad in an old cabin when I was a little kid. Freaked out and unable to get his belt off quickly, he was jumping up and down flailing his legs around and my mom was rolling on the ground laughing.
