It's the "my" part that is weird. From my perspective you are an interesting rando on nostr. I follow many accounts. Using possessive language is an influencer mindset. I get similar feelings on Twitter when bigger accounts will say "one of my reply guys." Good grief they are peers who took the time to engage. Should we all just be shouting into the void?

Well, yes. "Follow" itself is a terrible term. I follow Christ and that is it. It implies a heading "I am going this way after this thing." I am not a "follower of Mr Dorsey" but I am mildly interested in what he might have to say and it is useful to build a list of known identities from which you can learn new identities. What is the proper graph term for connected nodes? I think of them as contacts. "Dyad?" That is a terrible word.
Hmm. Neighbor is probably the most accurate for two way connected nodes. Not so much for one way. Neighbor has weird aggressively happy connotations when used with relative strangers. Hello Nostbor! Because everything needs to tie to the protocol or platform name.

If you surround yourself with "yes men" you are never challenged and never learn or grow. I like having my ideas challenged. Sometimes, I strengthen my beliefs and better understand why I believe what I believe. Sometimes I slightly tweak my beliefs. Sometimes I totally change my beliefs because I was wrong. I like subscribing to you because, although we don't' agree on everything, the discussions are always thought provoking. We do usually think similarly on the important stuff.
