correct, it's a business to a lot of them. most influencers growth-hack algos to pump their brand otherwise it's not worth their time. I have been explicitly told this by a few influencers.
Some of them have even explicitly tweeted about it, whining that they can’t algorymically get their tens or hundreds of thousands of followers again, so they dip out. Same thing has happened over on Bluesky.
