I don't care what other do, but the exec director posted an article that stars by licking Alexander's boots and regurgitating the regime's propaganda. I thought tor was about helping circumventing censorship and fighting for human rights. But apparently that's not what the decision making people think, so I don't want anything with it.
https://www.intercept.com.br/2024/09/03/vpns-protegem-a-sua-privacidade/ The first part is copy-paste of the regime's propaganda
I don't see any actions taken by Tor. I only see referenced to someone using Tor
She's the executive director of The Tor Project abd agrees with the absurd censorship promoted by Moraes. https://twitter.com/torproject/status/1831064756163391535
dam can't see the tweet
In response to the #Brazilian government's imposed restrictions on VPNs, Isabela Fernandes, Executive Director of the Tor Project, has authored a guest post for @TheInterceptBr about the benefits of IP masking tools for both users AND governments, and advocates for technological capacity building: https://intercept.com.br/2024/09/03/vpns-protegem-a-sua-privacidade/ https://image.nostr.build/e40a1109fabfec2f5b27f9106da27b96c66f98175691d11e205dc1a6df2ec04e.jpg
Not reading all articles, but sounds not cypherpunk at all. Good thing is she doesn't write the code and Tor is open source. But a more mission aligned Director would probably not hurt the project.
I'm not saying the code is bad, I don't trust the Tor Project's leadership anymore. nostr:nevent1qqsvjma7q0pxwk9w9ftys7eatc7ltdepzncv6tcrae2cm0enkw6yzfgpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hsyg8qe764f8fu7ld5ufeklrsmep8kyjr277jp99wcvlr2xy69jpp99qpsgqqqqqqsugt86k

Yeah, definitely need more context. Completely lost here.
