 @cd8e3eca @6e9427cf There you go! :11111:

It should be fine as it’s probably an https address. I have my own Wordpress blog, but I’ve only got a http site address so Mastodon won’t allow me to verify that it belongs to me. 😕
 @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca @6e9427cf Ah, I didn't know it needed a https, but now read it is in the guide and, yeah, in a way it makes sense. And I guess you haven't the option to switch to https for your blog?
 @b2ab0244 @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca my recollection is that that's a paid option. You also need to have your own domain. I do that with my photography Zenfolio, oh currently I'm such an ignoramus when it comes to setting up DNS and things like that, that I currently haven't hooked it up to my domain.
 @6e9427cf @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca Ah, I see. I have a paid webspace and there you could get the SSL as part of the package and be done with it.
 @b2ab0244 @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca That said, if I asked a colleague at work, who knows my gender, to fix it for me, I could do this. Hm. Trying to go commercial, so it might be worth it for the Wordpress blog, too. [Kicks self in ass.] Getting these resources online is a writing goal so I must. It must. I must.
 @6e9427cf @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca You can do this. I booked the service but in theory, I also know how to set it up, since I need to switch certificates for clients every once in a while.
Oh, and setting up a blog is fun. Regularly posting content, though... I did for a while, but found it too stressful to keep up.
 @b2ab0244 @cd8e3eca @6e9427cf I do, but it requires more money. I think the “s” is for the additional security, but I’m currently not selling stuff or taking personal details on my site, so it’s a bit pointless.
 @c09f86d3 @cd8e3eca @6e9427cf Ah, I see, yeah, that sucks.
