What has impressed me most about dealing with the NDIS is how much the corporate middlemen take as their cut.
To put on a staff member on $23 an hour, it costs the NDIS more than $120. My client chips in $3.
But the corporate middlemen actually have to charge a lot, because they handle important things like Compliance, Diversity and Liability.
More than of 80% of the cost of hiring a disabled person is lawyers, box-tickers, and blue-haired diversity consultants.
And then there's the public servants to administer it.
The least productive are not the disabled, they want to work.
The least productive are the politicians who mandate the lawyers, box-tickers, and blue-haired diversity consultants.
Labour used to look after their friends in Unions by giving them big contracts to work on, now they just wholecloth create government industries to place their acolytes in.
It’s disgusting how the fiat system works.
IKR...
"Spoils system". All four big parties acolytes have their snouts in the trough up to their eyes, gulping taxpayers money as fast as they can swallow.
NDIS isn't even the worst example. I get the feeling they KNOW it won't last so they're currently abandoning all pretence...
I work for one of these orgs. Can confirm. So much waste. No-one can be fired. Mediocrity everywhere
