The Amish are DOUBLING their population growth every 20 to 22 years on average. No electricity. Amazing. Per the Young Center at Elizabethtown College who has been studying the Amish way of life for a long time. Not to bad. @Tortuga
(Just an interesting factoid I came across).
Amish growth in 10 years apx 100%
USA growth in 10 years apx 5%
Future looking worse for most except the Amish. No electricity.
Muslims, Hispanics, and Mormon Fundamentalist Polygamists have large families per woman.

Muslims are polygamists as well. In the 90's the Muslims made up 60% of polygamists living in America, with Mormon Fundamentalists coming at 30%.

I bet those groups can have a 300% growth in 10 years.
Total Amish population is 350k even at 100% growth rate for 5 generations, that population would sit at less then 12 million. It would take another 12 generations or 300 years for that population to surpass 1 billion people, assuming consistent growth of 100%

The issue is that an agrarian lifestyle does not scale to those numbers. So the likelihood of that outcome is low to non existent.

Also, the Amish are not independent of electricity. They actually do produce and use electricity, so your entire comment is invalid anyways.
 Your numbers are incorrect.
And some do produce electricity albeit off the grid. Some have solar.

Your logic the other night was humanity cannot grow at an exponential rate without electricity.

I am saying that is not true. We have lots of electricity now and our USA current population growth has dwindled to about 0.5% per year and falling.

(Electricity is not the issue. It is the current mindset of humanity)
The last 20 years the Amish population growth was just over 100%
