Is anyone building this yet? 90% of internet users only read and never post. nostr:nevent1qqs96x2ayyyfl7w9vy82438lswlaesca90wq6d4rclsysgngv56dc5cppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qgst0mtgkp3du662ztj3l4fgts0purksu5fgek5n4vgmg9gt2hkn9lqrqsqqqqqprz6mhp
Lurkr
We used to call them leeches. I liked people being shamed as leeches for not contributing, we should go back to that model

I think that lurking is incentivized by the hell of kyc and mail registration in closed platforms. NOSTR fixes this.
90 to 99% nostr:nevent1qqsxsgy0x9s5sx0y9h4mylhdu0u4d8y9tzms5tme8l2kwv25kv4fy5cppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qgst0mtgkp3du662ztj3l4fgts0purksu5fgek5n4vgmg9gt2hkn9lqrqsqqqqqptu7ff4
Imagine the simplicity of the UX of such a dedicated client...
I am. And it excites me. I'm glad others are thinking about this as well. I may explore this as a computer science project class. Will depend upon the scope and time required. I'm skeptical about me doing it within 10-12 weeks, but maybe. It's about as simple of a client as I can imagine.
I've seen nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75spzpmhxue69uhnzdps9enrw73wd9hszynhwden5te0wp6hyurvv4cxzeewv4eszynhwden5te0wfjkccte9enrw73wd9hsxv8qkt make a new nostr client in two hours... 😉
Well, I'm not @PABLOF7z, but that is something to aspire to!
Try it out, you might be surprised how powerful you are.
There's a ghost button in humble horse which enables something like this. Not implemented yet but you could imagine if it was...
Ha. I was just thinking about doing something like this once I'm done with school to learn the basics of Nostr development. Honestly, there are a lot of times when I'd like to just have a minimal read experience. My vision is a feed app that maximizes privacy for those who don't necessarily want everything to be public (as mentioned here). I imagine this could be modified to be embedded in a web page too and have custom parameters (like only showing notes from a specific npub(s)). This may also be beneficial for those who have lower end devices or slower connections. I haven't used Nostr with such limitations so I'm not sure. nostr:note1dqsg7vtpfqv7gt0tkflwmcle26wg2k9hpghhj074vuc4fve2jffsnarz4p
Pretty sure this is already done. Just login with your public key instead of your private one. Apps like Nostur also provide an anon gues account.
I hope this is not a critique. Imagine how trashed the internet would be when the other 90% would ell post a comment today 🫣
just downloaded it yesterday but believe this is possible in Gossip?
Great idea… I reckon most clients could create Lurker mode easily too
I especially like the name
Nostur can do that! Multi Accounts in one client https://nostrcheck.me/media/1c4885b6b8313ce6052edb80f2b8019c5fe1b4a1c6a1cbddc160d7e9b6bf7543/19e3cdcb9a58e3f1a68a5ea0ec020e7f0e429aba74ab2b2c5b0a75df53527141.webp
Nice The thing is, Lurkers want to write data, specifically to keep bookmarks, so a npub read only client isn't optimal...
