Is setting up multiple accounts the only practical way of accomplishing this? I know how to kinda filter views, but haven't found any way to control where the posts go on a single account. For example, I'd want want posts about programming go to one set of relays and posts about bible study go to a separate set of relays.

Npubs are not accounts, they're digital pens you use to sign notes. I'm very curious how the whole handling of multiple npubs is going to play out: - for me personally (especially when we reach a level where it's safer to start doing some illegal things) - and for the UX in general. Easy switching is a must but what else?
The relays must also switch. That doesn't always happen. Also, I wish I could switch without leaving a feed, just to reply to something. And some way to prove that you own both. I link both to my Alby wallet, for instance.
Yep, designing a switch account method IN the reply box is on my list. Love that idea! The ownership / linking of npubs thing doesn't seem to urgent but it's already something we're bumping into in Zapstore (App npub - Builder(s) npub). Reputation vouching etc between your own npubs will also be a thing further down the road I think.

There is an opportunity to get some marketing off the back of the mashtastic tinkerers, what with people building using both, and Meshtastic really taking off on yourube. I think that is a good match, all sorts of tinkerers in general too, tinkering in gardens, tinkering with code, tinkering with DIY, tinkering with synths etc etc Nostr is a place for tinkerers lol. Why Obtanium instead of F-droid? Or are they for different use cases
Obtanium is much faster to get the update, plus you get push notifications of updates instead of possibly not getting them on f-droid.
Gotcha. So it sounds like f-droid may be more for those with a security preference of manual-only updates, and obtanium is more about permissionless access to the content that everyone gets, without needing to go through Google. Thanks!
That's a pretty decent summary. F-droid is pretty archaic, and I'd like to see more devs also support obtanium.
