element/synapse are trying to get people who run a matrix server to additionally run a sliding sync server to "make it faster to sync" for end users. but all it does it cause problems for normal users. and then they try to pretend like it;s your problem and refuse to answer you when you prove it's their problem. the software is updated every couple weeks with a new version number and nothing else. it literally doesnt work. you cant @ people, you cant use / commands, you can't do anything in the ElementX app. the only thing you can do is view pictures people tag you in. something the elemtent android and ios app does NOT allow you to do for the entirety of its life.

matrix and element both are fucking gay and cringe and im about done with both of them if i can be quite honest 

 I wonder if there's a better choice available for chat. I don't know much about any of that other than matrix is supposed to be encrypted and as safe as the users in there with you. 

 they're busy adding pronouns instead of making their software not shitty
