absolutely. all things cheapen in a fiat system, specifically because the incentive is geared towards mass production over quality. listen to summer by vivaldi and compare the quality and proof of work in that to most any modern music
…that’s not to say there aren’t mind blowing insanely skilled and talented artists today. it’s just that fiat shifts the incentive from spending a lifetime of perfecting the craft, to that of perfecting the politics. this is because the fiat world is all about the social game, getting in good those at the top, the taste-makers, the ones in control, the dictators of style. the reward is then given to those with the skill of networking with the right players, while integrity or merit is secondary
