 Im fairly certain the USA population has been on the decline for the first time ever over the past few years. So my assumption off that would be more elderly are dying compared to people turning 18. I could def be wrong though.

 I'm pretty sure we would notice the 3.75M per year additional bodies piling up. 

COVID added I think around a extra million deaths over a 2 year span and the mortuaries were completely backed up.
