Oddbean new post about login | logout I can see a world where people transact some in Monero but save in Bitcoin and primarily transact in Bitcoin. The only hope for Monero to gain in value vs Bitcoin is to come from the bottom up. The poorest people have to use it, which isn't going to happen because it's harder to use than Bitcoin, and Bitcoin is already quite a big leap for 95% of people.
If they know how to use Bitcoin they will know how to use Monero. Get address, hit send button (but now they have privacy by default without the Bitcoin hoop-jumping games) Maybe you meant Monero is harder to *acquire* for them since it is delisted from most major exchanges? That is true.
I don't hope for Monero to gain in value, I hope it will gain in privacy even more. If dystopia is goes hard, everyone will go to Monero, not only the "poorest people" ^^ It's not about money, it's about control
Well I'm going to make a Bitcoin business and I'll also take Monero. Only those two, or cash. And if I ever get a choice to pay with either Bitcoin or Monero, I'll pay with Monero if all else is equal. Not only to support you guys and your principled stance, but because I'd prefer to hold the Bitcoin.
