Committee to Review Juvenile Justice Board Functioning in Pune ========== The state woman and child development commissioner has constituted a four-member committee to review the functioning of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Pune. The committee will investigate whether the JJB properly followed the judicial process in granting bail to a teenager involved in a Porsche Taycan crash. The inquiry will focus on the two members appointed by the state government to the board, and their past records and orders will be evaluated. The committee will submit its report within 15 days. The JJB had initially released the 17-year-old on bail with certain conditions, but later cancelled the bail and sent the teenager to an observation home. Activists have criticized the bail conditions, including writing a 300-word essay, as inadequate for such a serious accident.
