I’ve got a weird idea for a new nostr social media app. Probably the simplest first-time UX ever.

1. Show 10 curated notes which are interesting for some reason (got a lot of zaps, good topic for a newcomer, well-known author, about a current event, etc.)

2. Instruct the user to pick their favorite note of the 10.

3. Include another 10 notes based on some characteristic which distinguished the note they choose (topic of the note, replies to the note, other notes from the same author, etc.)

4. Goto step 2

After a dozen or so iterations of this you know topics/people that are active on nostr that this new user is interested in without any explicit topic selection or people following.

Store the clickstream (signed) on a relay so other clients could use this data to build upon it.

Maybe never bother with the concept of following? idk, wdyt?
Perhaps they could swipe right or left and use that to determine which is shown next.
oh kinda like @Karnage‘s AirNote design?
Dunno. Maybe. Great minds do think alike. 😜
i read/commented on his design so it was probably in my head when writing this
It requires an algorithm/AI for labeling and curating content, which adds high level of complexity. On top of that we kinda came to Nostr to escape algorithms and AI.
Go on global and find shit you like then follow
that works, but it’s a lot of work to find the good stuff

as nostr grows larger this gets even harder, computers are tools that could help us with this problem
Seriously though, we need an app tied closer to the lightening network. Every exchange should exchange value. This would have the net result of paying off to contributers and strongly reward content creation.

NOSTR should be the best way to make Satoshis through participation.

As long as people get freebies they will take it all and not value the network and then torn between social networks, they will choose to pay for access to their friends OR market access And Nostr. So something they value for something they don't. It's a no brainier
