I realize there might not be enough data, just brainstorming.

This is an echo chamber and yet my attempt to jeep prying eyes away on my alternate identity caused me to be banned from X without reason. Most has a place, but most do not see the need for it yet, or perhaps ever.

I'm on FB and X. FB is a joke, it's all ads and promotions from this or that page, company, whatever. Doomscrolling is real, and the reels take up a lot of my time mostly because I'm bored. X is useful for those few profiles that post updates on some things I care about. but those profiles are drowned out by the noise, and almost nobody reacts or responds when I post. I usually give up within a few minutes and close it down. Nostr is where I come to interact with other humans who care about the same things that I do. We may have different ideas, ideology, whatever. But only here do we have a foundation that we can use to build. Monetary foundation, Trust foundation, Information foundation, Inspiration foundation. It's all built into the protocol. I know if I see a post, 99% of the time the person who typed it is the person who created it. Even Reposts identify the source, not the person who hit share. So if I like a post, I can support the source. And I can trust it, even if I disagree with it. The information is secure, once a post goes out it's locked and whoever made the post has to be accountable for it. And if someone gets an idea first, nobody else can claim they had that idea earlier because timestamps are recorded. I really believe that all social media roads will lead to Nostr. All we need is bridges built to and from the other networks and systems. No more silos. If someone wants a private conversation, that's a feature that is being developed, but with the base protocol as the foundation. As far as relevant world events, I'll go to actual news sources for that. Real ones.

I started checking out the selected accounts via xcancel.com (Nitter). You have to search for what you want to see (accounts or keywords). There's no feed & no algo. It has its tradeoffs, but limits the time sink and doomporn pretty well. I would enjoy if we create some DVM/Bot LLM which can scrape once per day your pre-selected accounts and pops out a newsletter for you in Nostr. I know there's been backlash about people/bots using nostr for copy pasting their Twitter posts; (impersonal; "not earnest posting"; without the willingness to engage in conversation). But I think if it clearly comes from a bot or a 3rd party, it can serve a good function for the nostr community to brainstorm on the thoughts over here.

The further down the rabbit we go the easier it is, for me anyways. It has now become nothing more than "add to the stack and chill." Macro this or that, whatever. It's freeing when you reach that level.

There's definitely less noise over here on Nostr. Question is: how valuable was the info you're now not seeing? Opening up space in our lives, gives us the ability for new creativity to come through My bet: long-term you'll benefit hugely from not being such a big part of the "news cycle"

My 2 SATS. Twitter/X is very useful but it’s a one way street. Use it anon & don’t post. Curate your feed & check it once or twice daily for anything relevant. Clean, simple & informative. Nostr does an ok job of pulling from X but it misses the mark.
