In the future, people will write emails using AI and others will read these emails using AI.

Sender: "Write this as a formal email: ..."
Recipient: "Summarize the content of this email: ..."

Humans will realize that all that "dear madam or sir I hope this email finds you well" is just formal boilerplate and that communication is less about form but more about its content. It's like zipping a file and unzipping it again (except it actually blows up the size in this case). Our digital expression will reduce back to its original form of pure content and explicit intent.

I'm 99% certain this will happen. Nobody truly likes this formal bullshit. Machines are going to be like APIs between humans.

 Already happening.

 Neat!
 Dear Dr. Calle,
I really appreciate the work you put into writing this note.
Take this emoji and 21 ⚡ as proof of my sincere thankfulness.
🧡

Yours faitfully,

Thank you. The 21 sats are the signal, everything else is noise 😂
Take this emoji and 21 ⚡ as proof of my sincere thankfulness.

Sincère GN, avec l'expression de mes sentiments distinguées.
 Excellent thoughts.

The Hiring process is probably due for some changes too...It doesn't make sense to have AI write a job description and have AI write the resume/cover letters/answer the stupid questions.
Thanks for the tip about DuckduckGo AI !
 yes.

every meeting could have been an email. so could most podcasts
Am I dumb for believing this is already prevalent in many industries?
Why do you (or your nip5) pretend to be nostr:nprofile1qqsr9cvzwc652r4m83d86ykplrnm9dg5gwdvzzn8ameanlvut35wy3gprpmhxue69uhhwetvvdhk6efwdehhxarj9emkjmn9qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyg8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2yhtlun?
 ? I don’t see that
I’ve tried changing it & it always reverts back to that. I don’t know why it does but it does.
 I see your nip5 as jb54@jb55.com
That shouldn’t display though since it’s not valid ?
 I see it as invalid
 ah
You see my nip as invalid. That makes sense from what I’ve learned.
Weird AF cause that’s not even what mine shows. Admitted from the beginning I don’t understand tech but that’s not what mine shows from end. 🤦🏻‍♀️

When I changed it to an actual email address I own someone else said that was bad to do for safety. It’s all confusing to me but I’m not intentionally being malicious. Truly.
For clarity this was done on another NPUB & not this one. I’ve admitted from the beginning I don’t understand everything online & have received many various messages from others telling me what I should do.

Almost every time I listen to one “person” & take their advice regarding what to do online, I receive hate messages from others.

Maybe that’s the goal of some people. To make a game of other people & their ignorance. Humans always human. Some will genuinely seek to help others. Some will always seek to destroy others. I’ve seen it happen in my life.

Either way, I know who I am. Will continue to make mistakes but it’s done by ignorance and misunderstanding. It’s not done to hurt others.
 That Gn is unnecessary
machine will write all shit no humans should write, machine will read all shit no humans should read.
No surprise of academics being totally crazy about kids utilizing chatgpt for write their thesis no-one will never *and never should* read.
I hate when people unnecessarily use more words than necessary.
the sooner I have a local ai that can read my emails for me and zap it into my brain the better. I'm already getting ai written emails from people and it drives me mad. stop making my life harder by forcing my feeble brain to parse your weirdly structured, overly verbose blathering with a call to action at the end of every message.nreeeeeeee

 People who agree: almost everyone
People who disagree: Boomers
I like the formal shit. I believe how we say things matters. I still hand write my emails and always will.

I’ll save everyone time and call myself a boomer now.
As @preston mentioned in this recent podcast on Information and the creator of Information Theory, the true information is in the surprises in the message.

“Dear Madam/Sir” and “best regards” don’t convey much, if any, information at all.
I agree with your perspective on the evolution of communication. AI has the potential to streamline and enhance how we interact by focusing on the core message rather than adhering to outdated formalities. The use of AI to generate and interpret emails could help us prioritize clarity and intent, reducing unnecessary fluff. This shift could lead to more efficient communication, allowing us to spend more time on what truly matters: the content itself.

However, there's also a human element in communication that AI might struggle to replicate entirely. Personal touches, nuances, and emotional intelligence often play a crucial role in understanding and conveying messages. While AI can handle the technical aspects, maintaining a balance between efficiency and the human touch will be essential as we navigate this digital transformation.

It's an exciting time for technology, and I'm curious to see how this change unfolds. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Wright an important longhand correspondemce to a friend in a distant land, one who you will never see or speak with again, and not only must you leave your ink to dry overnight but pay nearly a silver coin to have it delivered several months hence.
I might take great care with my greetings and salutations.
I like a proper GM, Thanks, GN etc

I realized a couple years ago that I’ve been conditioned to skip the first paragraph of emails because people rarely get to the point until the second paragraph. Starting at the second paragraph makes triaging go much faster.
