 Right... You had to verbally tell the device to record, press and hold a button, or blink a certain way to take a photo. And the video was only for 10 seconds. Plus, the second generation has a white dot on it when recording. People used to complain about cameras 100 years ago, then complain about phone cameras 20 years ago. But now most people don't care because unfortunately, when out in the public you're always on a camera, somewhere. That's the real issue. 

But I do get it. Even if you're not recording, people don't want a camera pointing at them. Try doing that with a phone camera and you'll definitely piss people off.

All of that said, Apple will make it cool and "normal" here in the next few years. I don't like it any longer, but many Apple fans definitely do.
