Elon doesn't need this deal. He has already gained enough political influence by helping Trump's campaign. He has also made more than $40 billion from the rise in Tesla's stock price. The capital gains from buying Truth Social are small. Instead, it will be a stain on his personal reputation and political dealings. This deal is a very bad choice for him.
