You ser, need to watch a documentary on Hunter S. Thompson. He did just this and nearly one.

He ran on the freak power ticket in Aspen, Colorado in 1968 or so. 

 It seems very relevant given current state of American society to have a freedom oriented Sheriff nearby.  

 Better to infiltrate positions of power to be the change you want to see 🫡
