The Biden administration has extended the pause on student loan payments for borrowers enrolled in the SAVE repayment plan. The payment freeze will remain in effect for at least six more months as the Department of Education reviews legal challenges threatening the program. Borrowers enrolled in SAVE will not have to make payments while the courts determine the legality of the program. Interest on student loans will not accrue during this time.
