I think the song was created to speak on racial injustice at the time, it’s becoming more and more relevant now with just Americans in general
I'll have to study this a little more. I was expecting the next scene to be him hanging from a tree but that would be to obvious and all the great minds (and spirit) speak in metaphors and are a puzzle for us to look deeper into to find out their meaning.
