Why is nobody on the #Nostr platform talking about #Reticulum ? Huh? Check out its amazing characteristics: https://reticulum.network/ https://image.nostr.build/b7e9b0d3292bd285af44a94ae9dca4eb608d470105871158fe373b2d8a237b1c.jpg #meshnetwork #Rnode #Sideband #Meshtastic #freedomtech #NomadNetwork #LXMF
I'm a big fan of reticulum myself.
Same. I like the idea and that it aims to allow a pluggable transport framework rather than just being LoRA/MQTT as with Meshtastic.
Follow these two blokes☝️ There are people talking about it. Personally, I am more interested in communications systems that don't rely on the internet, but I still strongly feel that #reticulum has its place. I expect that if I can get 802.11 mesh networks covering my area I'll dive more into reticulum. If WiFi Halo ever becomes a thing in practice, it'll become much more practical.
Reticulum is nice because it can use the internet. But it definately does not require it. I'm not a transport maximalist. If I set up a node I want it to have multiple IPv6 (AF_INET6) transports, serial transports, LoRa and more! The more diverse the better (and I don't mean that in the gay way)
Oh yeah, we on it.
because nostr is largely populated with people who follow ‘alternative’ trends, but are still trend followers. and meshtastic is trending. Reticulum is an amazing project
I've not locked further into it as it seems to have limited use. There is no global public network so unless I build a complete network with my community, there's no way to actually use reticulum to communicate with distant people. Am I wrong in this assumption?
Very interested in #Reticulum! Hoping to build a batch of RNodes soon. I'd love to see more Nostr community crossover
