This is very true.
In my practice, I frequently see consistent patterns of thinking and behavior that cause distress in people. Repeated cycles that end the same way every time. Like people are caught in endless loops. They say they want it to end. They ask, how do I stop feeling this way? or how do I get through this tough spot in my life? People are looking for an easy answer. They want a simple tip, trick, or a pill that takes all their distress away. Something that will give instant relief with no work or effort on their part. They want the reward but aren't willing to put in the work.
The real answer is much less appealing than that. Consistent hard work and wanting that change more than anything. Every day. You have to want to feel differently, you have to want to change and grow and you have to work every day to do it. You have to see the goal clearly in your head and drive toward it. When you stumble, you have to get up and keep going again. If not, nothing will change. There is no quick fix. It's hard work and perseverance.
💯
I always succeeded by having many small goals that all worked towards one larger goal. Break everything down into little, incremental things
Still a lot of work, and most people don't want to do it. It's easier to simply go along with everyone else, don't stand out, don't be different, don't work on yourself.
