No, usually a sign of stress. Is true that the older you get you don’t sleep as much. Naps are great.

Melatonin is powerful. It isn't recommended to take it regularly. It's a hormone that does quiet a lot more than make you sleepy.

It has a regulatory effect on a bunch of systems in the body. I can't recall the specifics off the top of my head. But, I think the admonishment was that long term use could disregulate your body's production of it, kind of forming a dependancy.

Do you workout at night? Exercise is better in the morning and afternoon because of the spike in cortisol. High cortisol at night means you will have a hard time falling asleep. Most important would be setting your circadian rhythm by watching sunrise and sunset. Also try to lower blue light (phone/laptop) if you can. Or just turn on the red tint for those devices.
