“Believing in science” isn’t the same as “believe the scientists paid to produce a result.”
 Facts
When I was a Christian in high school, there was always the question of how to answer test questions concerning evolution, and the age of the Earth. For young Earthers, this was usually justifying that you were lying on the test in order to get the grade (or maybe you wrote in some stuff with an asterisk*, if you were an asshole about it).

The thing about this quote, is that the woman doesn’t seem to understand just because someone answers one thing on a test in school to get a grade, doesn’t mean they believe it’s true.

And there is so much, darker shit in this quote. If you didn’t conform to what the society had agreed upon for the state of the world, you would be marked as a failure. You had to accept a view of reality; whether it is the church’s or the secularist, it makes no difference. Both sides can use belief for good or authoritarianism, but when the collective view gets things wrong, the results can be disastrous.

For such a stupid and brain dead quote, there’s a lot to unpack. There is a lot to learn about the mentality of humans today that may lead to the next collapse.
