Not really, the thing is in Japan even it's a meme that 16:10 displays are the best LCDs for PC98 games (the native res is that) and also later PC-98s had LCDs. Of course dithering effects look better on a CRT, but it's nowhere near as dramatic as the "composite video" effects that some old games used.

I also don't own a PC-88 since they cost far more used to the point of creeping into the low parts of x68k and FMT prices used.

Which tbh you would have had back in the day because you were playing on channel 3 and your parents were anal about asking for the new game system.
