Just in case you thought you weren't early... It's 2024 and we still have people legitimately believing Bitcoin can be hacked and that we're in a mining death spiral. https://m.primal.net/LtVZ.png
I mean his last name is Hack
I hear this from friends - what if the internet goes down? What about quantum computing? All not realizing that if any or all of these things happen, bitcoin can still survive. Their banks…not so much.
I mean, if the internet goes down worldwide, or if an asteroid comes and wipes out the planet…. Then maybe lol
Their arguments almost actually rise to that level of absurdity - I can’t buy it because the sun will likely be extinguished in a billion years, so ultimately Bitcoin is destined to fail.
He needs more GM and more PV in his life and it shows.
Rule of thumb - if someone critiques something for a litany of reasons, they throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. Well-read critics are generally able to reduce it down to one, critical flaw. If you can’t do that, you’re probably full of shit.
Stay poor Tim.
You can’t help stupid.
It will take a 3000-cubits quantum computer to break SHA 256. 1 cubit cost $1M. He is just a dumbass
There are very real and present threats to bitcoin. Centralization of block template construction is a very serious problem. It's also quite possible that Core will soft-fork some bullshit into the system that will have unintended consequences that weaken the network. There are other threads as well but those two are big ones.
Yes and we can be cognizant of those worries. Bitcoin needs better critics though - "hacking the system" and "mining is too expensive" are some weak sauce 2015 arguments.
don’t anyone tell that Hack. https://m.primal.net/LtXK.jpg
hfsp Tim!
Another hack? nostr:nevent1qqsvqjlv5nutzp0fac4mea6wgz6vd259gpz2nrr2vuscxf5dt59u7ngpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qgspnzgrfett3asxcuj0gksje6z2zxzpvgd27uvz58m9vsuqh8zzw6crqsqqqqqphr566s

I like to believe these people are the same type that like to start arguments over trivial things and are essentially click-baiting people into it. Who knows though, hard to assume anything these days. 😂
Tim, You do not understand SHA256 and the Bitcoin blockchain. I suggest you learn more about the game theory that stops it going to zero and stops it being hacked. Once you understand "pure digital scarcity" you will be amazed. Good luck with your quest.
