 @feffb750 ahh that explains it, I thought is was just the charm of that Michael something (I totally forgot his name). But yes people are so fed up that they vote on what they see as the only alternative, which at the moment looks like the tories with david cameron

 @ab11dda5 people can’t expect any progress from their councils in terms of service unless they pay. There is nothing left to trim, they are threadbare and going bust because they are making desperate stupidly dangerous investment decisions (Tory run ones) and being forced into using cut price useless private services (Labour run ones). Politicians of every stripe promising more for less is crippling this country.

 @feffb750 I totally agree, but I think the info that more is expected from councils (by goverment) with less investment maybe doesn't pass across to people... they only think they pay loads of council tax...
