 I use Alby and I zap everytime someone posts something that gives me value. Somedays there is a lot of value to be found here, other days is just shitposting so no zaps...

 Any privacy tradeoffs in that setup? 

 Hum I’m not technical at all but I guess if you uses LNURL/lightning addresses you loose all your privacy because it’s a third party server which query the invoice to the recipient node, knowing de facto the pubkey of the payee. So if you don’t use a VPN at least, one can correlate your ID to who you paid so basically no privacy at all.

Plus they could even present you a fake invoice paying themselves if they wanted to, so you have to trust them to be honest, or check carefully the invoice before paying it.

But at least they never take custody of your funds.
This is what I believe but not perfectly sure.

 Seems like my alby wallet gets disconnected from amethyst (perhaps on update from fdroid), so zaps require frequently relinking of the account. Grrr.

 I really like my Getalby address, but I don't like the excessive fees for moving sats from one wallet to another other than Alby.

Minibits while being ecash based requires less fees than transactions via lightning.

 I love the work you guys do . Full stop. But trying to force fit nostr and zaps all the time is kinda cringe. We should learn from Naval.  

 Yes, we have become a little more stingy and demanding lately. But I always empty my Lightning and when I get something back in, I keep zapping. 

 Btw, Alby has awesome personal support. Even in matters relating to interaction with other technologies. Not the back-and-forth shifting of responsibilities known from fiat software support departments.

 I’ve been using Alby for a while and it works great! I think zaps are changing from replacing the “like” button to more of a “tip” for people actually putting out content. You wouldn’t tip someone for having a conversation with you, but you would tip a musician that entertained you. I think that’s what’s happening. 

 Smallest zaps amount to so little, so well articulated thought, interesting take or just nice words are worth a ⚡ 
Longer text with deeper knowledge or pondering some random subjects I find interesting  deserve a proper ⚡ 
Problem is that as follows list grows, it becames harder to decide who to ⚡ because I can only give so much. 🤷🏻

 I zapped all my zaps away. I get MAYBE 100 sats a day in zaps, which only provides me with enough sats to zap 4 notes at 21 sats each.

 My account has almost shrunk to the legendary 5225 Sats, which is the minimum I will always keep. That's when you start getting picky with the Sats rewards ;-)
