In a way, we are all responsible for creating the type of content we want to see.
Yes, but it requires dedication to do something you might not see the benefit of. (Did not say purposfully that there is no benefit)
We’re all product one way or another no matter the platform. You’re either creating or being consumed.
I guess you mean you make the product or you are being the product? I guess at the end, most of us seek the least resistance, and it is still the least resistance to be somewhere else.
It is what it is. There’s no CEO or marketing department here. Everyone is just doing whatever they want or can. It’s self-organizing. Very easy to close the tab if it’s not satisfying the needs. I browse X for some design related content but it usually always disappoints and I find myself back on here. Likewise with YouTube. I find better genuine people and conversations here than anywhere else. If I’m not feeling engaged that’s my fault for not opening up. It’s a two way street.
I don't say either if it is good or bad. I don't use other social media at end. But not really a social media type. I am just trying to be genuinely empathic and understand the other side that is not really cheering for freedom, opensource, etc.
