I torrent all the time, haven't gotten a virus in years. I get what you're saying, but being p2p doesn't always mean trash. Also, newcomers from twitter aren't gonna like the free experience they're used to getting if nothing is done to curb these annoying bots. Nostr will feel more like 4chan before captcha
I torrent too and I haven't got a virus in years but I think it's due to the fact that I use a VM and the OS is Linux on oth the host and guest. Most viruses are targeted towards windows.
The issue is not P2P. The issue is they want to keep everything free. Bitcoin gives us the power of micro payments. We need "follow requests" where you need to pay 1 Satoshi or less to send a follow request. After sending a follow request and the other profile accepts you can interact with the profile. That will stop spam.
Allowing anyone to write comments and interact with any profiles is the dumbest thing.
Look at the responses on your notes. Full of bits and spam. It's unreadable.
