Then, they read a bunch of different bank names, asking if I had accounts with them. I said, “no,” and then, they wanted me to tell them where I do have bank accounts. I said, “I’m not giving you that information over the phone.” Then, they reminded me that they would “release my warrant,” and I’d have to go to the police department with my lawyer. I said, “Fine. I’ll do that,” and they hung up.
I would have known it was a scam either way, but what really clued me in was they didn’t use my legal name—after they told me that my identification card (drivers license) was found in one of the packages of drugs. They called me by my nickname, which isn’t on my license.
