One of my favorite experiences was Tuesday Trilogy for Lord of the Rings. We had a brief break between films and over an hour before the third film for dinner.

Downside... seats get uncomfortable over time, though this was before all the recliner seats they make now.

Also would only do this again if they had food service and brought it to you. Wine availability is nice too but not required. 

 I love food and movies, together even better. Lol they should start parking food trucks at theatres. #mybrainisonaroll 

 Theatres make their money from the concession stands, not the movie tickets 

 Not the one I went to. It was a sorry little concession stand. It had popcorn and soda, and the popcorn was premade. LOL
