 How many times have y’all seen this overlay? I think I‘ve seen it more than ten times now on a single iPhone with a single pair of AirPods.

 @a6ff0b2b Never seen, but I didn’t upgrade the phone, so, maybe…
 @a6ff0b2b 3 times I think
 @a6ff0b2b but did you know!?
 @a6ff0b2b I saw it for the first time this weekend. I hope that’s the first and last time, but it sounds like it may not be.
 @a6ff0b2b Huh, never seen it before.
 @a6ff0b2b Biggest new feature they’ve added to AirPods since launch, for my daily workflow. Maybe they’re proud!
 @a6ff0b2b only the first time for me
 @a6ff0b2b I don't think I've ever seen it, and I got the AirPods Pro 2 two months ago.
 @a6ff0b2b never
 @a6ff0b2b never
 @a6ff0b2b once, after the iOS 17 update.
 @a6ff0b2b I’ve never seen this
 @a6ff0b2b more than 10
 @a6ff0b2b I have getting similar prompts on Beats Fit Pro for months and now AirPods 3 have joined the party.
 @a6ff0b2b I’ve already switched the gestures. One click to end, two clicks to mute. IMO that’s how Apple should have done it to begin with.
 @a6ff0b2b I’ve only seen it once, but I also completely disconnected and reconnected my AirPods Pro 2s from my phone very recently.

(They kept randomly chirping at me when I put them in the case, or maybe it was the case itself. Whichever, it was annoying.)
 @a6ff0b2b It just popped up for me and my AirPods are in their case, in my pocket.
 @a6ff0b2b just once actually
 @a6ff0b2b I’ve never seen it.
 @a6ff0b2b only once, but I consistently see my first connect of my AirPods Pro to my iPhone get staggered audio after the firmware update. The only way to fix it is to put them back in their case for around 10 seconds
 @a6ff0b2b Quite a few that’s for sure.
 @a6ff0b2b I saw it twice, once after I installed the beta, and then after I reset my phone the first time after that. I’ve rebooted a few times since then and never seen it again.
 @a6ff0b2b I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on my iPhone and AirPods. Is it new with the iPhones 15?
 @a6ff0b2b Ten sounds about right. Pretty much every single time I connect em
 @a6ff0b2b for someone using the headphone button since it was a thing, it’s also horribly bad UX to break 2 decades of muscle memory in how to end a call.

And I’m aware there’s a toggle, but AirPods forget that setting about monthly.

Why couldn’t they have added double-tap to mute as a new thing? Why break everybody’s muscle memory?
 @a6ff0b2b I’m going to need constant reminding. I remember none of the gestures. I only use the AirPods once a week, and taking in and out of my ear and putting in case are the only ‘gestures’ I use. I control volume on my phone.
 @a6ff0b2b basically every time my AirPods connect to my iPad. I haven’t seen it on my phone yet though.
 @a6ff0b2b Same for me.
Also Find me is sending me a lot of weird notifications while walking through the town.I loose every device I own during my way according to Find my.
 @a6ff0b2b I have an iPhone and AirPods and I’ve never encountered this.
 @a6ff0b2b I've seen it at least 4 times across my devices. I'm not too mad about it since the animations are pretty snazzy.

Plus, I appreciated the primers since there (understandably) wasn't gripping, extensive podcast coverage on it over the past few months.
 @a6ff0b2b Haven’t seen this at all
 @a6ff0b2b once.  At setup
 @a6ff0b2b only once with each of my AirPods.
 @a6ff0b2b literally never seen this and I switch two sets of AirPods between two iphones (one a wifi dummy, one a real) constantly.
 @a6ff0b2b an annoying amount of times
