for thousands of years most people lived in poverty, had zero concept of freedom or personal liberty, and had life expectancies in their 30’s. the present and future today is what you make of it. the past is helpful to learn from but it’s not your savior and it makes for shitty cartoon propaganda. almost everyone in history would have made themselves a refugee to the current “system” of western society if such a chance was ever available. this is not a pass for everything that’s wrong today, it’s a reality check on what we’ve come from.
