Have you ever wanted to be truly #Anonymous on #Nostr? Are you a whistleblower who wants safely drop leaks?

Anonostr allows users to send anonymous notes to the Nostr network without revealing their identity. The app generates a new key pair for each note submission and publishes the note using a few select relays. It supports tagging, threading, and replying to existing notes.

It's easy to self-host or use PWA for even further anon #nostr

Failed to send notes couple of tim es
If you look at the browser dev console, could you please let me know if it shows a "duplicate" message? I think there might be some race condition with how it sends sometimes throws that error even though it actually worked ope.
Was thinking about something like this!

Will DM you
 Sometimes but no. Sometimes
No
Who knows? I don’t
 Great 🙆🏻‍♀️
 Isn't #nostr already anonymous ! ..
Not entirely, especially if you keep the same npub and use the same relays -- that leaves a trail
Who is fiatjaf ? .. he didn't change npub so far I know ..
 ...and he got doxed...
 Interesting idea
 But I am anonymous
No, you are pseudonymous not anonymous.

If you use the same key pair the whole time there is traceability.
Psudonymous systems were when we started creating an ID on the server side .. that was an improvement because original anonymous internet was incapable of keeping a history ..

The key pair systems particularly that are implemented on client side .. and thus KYC free ..are the best (physically possible) implementation of anonymity... So I call them "near anonymous" systems

The problem is NOT the system .. the problem is people attach their real IDs to #nostr IDs because they want to leverage their pre-existing networks ..

If you want to popular .. you can't have privacy ..people will find out everything about you no matter what you do ..

Agreed, a key pair is certainly better than having to provide an email address in order to create an account.

But it's not complete anonymity if you always use that key pair and with the same relays. In addition to using the same lightning address. In addition to any further identifiable information provided through profile data.

The relays will still see your connecting IP, user agent, etc. But this is what #Anonostr seeks to solve is to disconnect that trail you leave behind.

By using a new key pair for every note, and eventually through relay hopping, it will make it nearly impossible for someone to try and track and/or link all of the npubs together or from one particular relay.
I wouldn't trust your site to not log my IP, so I gather it is supposed to be used via Tor only?
The domain is using GitHub Pages to serve up the single index.html file needed to run. There's no server from my end that's logging. You could argue that GitHub likely is, but I don't have access to that. This is why you can download the file and run it directly from your own machine if you like. Or, use the IPFS version.
But you can make as many key pairs as you want .. there is absolutely no limits . Besides changing the IP address is as easy as turning off your router ..

I am not denying there could be a usecase for such developments ..but these are irrelevant in post #nostr world ..

They were important in legacy web .. and feels like people just couldn't get over inertia ..

"But you can make as many key pairs as you want"... that's exactly what #Anonostr does for you very easily. Did you not check it out before commenting?
Yes I did. I just don’t see the advantage. I’m currently anon. If I need a new anon identity I can create one in any client.
 thanks for sharing
 Tor support?

Yuppers, connects over Tor and has option to use Tor relays.
hey, added anonostr to my list of desktop nostr clients. https://image.nostr.build/b3981a8f8648d0442bd3114919b5e0d26278193d3c68d22972f0906a41090abb.jpg

Great idea for anonymity. I've seen others comment that new key pairs for every note is an end game to aim for. Fame and anonymity can't go hand in hand etc . 👍
