 Probably not. City life works only because everything is open and most of stuff is transported/imported there. 

 My theory is that it’s just to improve our health.  The world could use a good 40 day famine.  Lower our blood pressure, reduce cancer, reduce Alzheimer’s. 

Our current lifestyle are killing us.

Actually 80 days might be better.
