heh i'm definitely not a luddite, i recognize ML/AI as a new information processing paradigm i just don't buy the hype, i think it's important to recognize the limits and compromises of a technology as well > I believe advanced ai is one of the most important inventions humanity will ever create i mean, maybe, i do believe there are many kinds of mind possible, but some people that claim this is just a matter of exponential growth and i don't believe that, the current "AI" is way way different than the "AI" of science fiction, and Silicon Valley VCs like to cash in on the confusion between here
If the scaling hypothesis is true (seems to be more and more empirically true over time) and if you plot the line, it’s a continuous improvement to more and more advanced reasoning and capability. There doesn’t seem to be any obvious upper limit.
sure, maybe, the idea that LLMs are full artificial intelligence seems to have, always been based on a belief in logocentrism, as well as that cognitive psychology is a complete representation of what our brains do, i think this is questionable
