If people a million years into the future were trying to decipher the english language, and all they had were scraps of articles from legacy media , they would conclude that 'strengthen democracy' was our word for ' stage a coup and install a puppet government' .  

 May be right - a democracy is mob rule, as opposed a Republic with aim to protect the individual.
